Assignment 5: English song

Pharrell Williams - Happy

Pharrell Williams, the singer of the song, is an American singer and also songwriter.
Happy, the song is from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack album as known as the theme song of 小小兵.
It might seem crazy what I'm about to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take a break
I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don't care baby by the way
Huh, because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Here come bad news, talking this and that
(Yeah) Well, give me all you got, and don't hold it back
(Yeah) Well, I should probably warn you I'll be just fine
(Yeah) No offense to you, don't waste your time
Here's why
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Hey, come on, uh
Bring me down, can't nothing (happy)
Bring me down
My level is too high to bring me down (happy)
Can't nothing, bring me down (happy)
I said, let me tell you now, unh (happy)
Bring me down, can't nothing, bring me down (happy, happy, happy)
My level is too high to bring me down (happy, happy, happy)
Can't nothing bring me down (happy, happy, happy)
I said
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Come on, unh bring me down can't nothing (happy, happy, happy)
Bring me down my level is too high (happy, happy, happy)
Bring me down can't nothing (happy, happy, happy)
Bring me down, I said
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you, eh eh eh
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you, eh hey
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do, heh come on

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Hold (it) back
to keep something secret
example: Tell me all about it, don't hold anything back.

2.Bring (me) down
to reduce something to a lower level
example: The government hopes these measures will help to bring down inflation.

3.Roof
the structure that covers or forms the top of a building etc
example: We can probably strap the cases to the roof of her car.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I like the song because it is very relaxing, with the brisk rhythm, I can forget pressure
and something unhappy. The catchy lyrics also makes me to keep listening to this song.
As the class told us to learn from English songs, I strong recommend this song because
it has repeated rhythm and simple lyrics, although it may be a little to fast, it is still a
good one to learn. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Assignment 4: TED Talk

Build a tower, build a team (7:22)

by Tom Wujec

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Words learn from video
1.
Orient: to direct somebody/something towards something
Example: Our students are oriented towards science subjects.

2.
Gingerlyin a careful way, because you are afraid of being hurt, of making a noise
Example: He opened the box gingerly and looked inside.

3.
Iterativethat involves repeating a process or set of instructions again and again
Example: We used an iterative process of refinement and modification.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is talking about "marshmallow challenge" which you need to build a structure with a marshmallow
on the top. In the beginning, there might be a person trying to be the leader of the group. In this
challenge, the structure of the group is just like the team on job.
And if you want to success,
incentives is not the only thing you need, you need to combine with skills, and that's why we're still
learning different knowledge.
